Call for projects: Luminale 2016
Luminale 2016, « the first time the Luminale takes place before the change to the summertime, so that we can use the darkness for light events one hour earlier/longer » explaines Helmut M. Bien, the Luminale director. Call for projects.
For more than 12 years now, Luminale has been held every two years, alongside the Light+Building trade fair.
With its 250.000 visitors at the last event in 2014, it is now established as the Biennale of Lighting Culture in Germany.
Luminale is a platform for ideas and innovations that relate to lighting, energy efficiency, the application of new technologies and materials and to the quality of life in our cities. Participation in Luminale is a tried and tested instrument for gaining public attention.
The Luminale in 2016 will transform again:
- inner-urban places
- buildings,
- parks and bridges,
- high rises,
- churches
- present installations in museums,
- passages,
- factory buildings,
- galleries,
- clubs and party locations,
- to showrooms and shops.
How do I set about participating?
« The conditions of participation have not changed towards in 2014 » Helmut M. Bien. « The scenes of the Luminale are the cities of Frankfurt am Main and Offenbach. The last more than 180 light events were to be seen by about one quarter of million spectators. Thousands of photographers also went on photo safari ».
« Talk events like the quite traditional Pecha-Kucha Luminale Night to this year’s international year of light, art openings, concerts, excursions of the Klimatours up to the Designer Walks with World-Architects lighted up the facets of the light ».
